How To Parboil Rice.

There are many types of rice. But the most common and popular one is the long grain white rice which is firm in nature.
Because it contains a lot of
carbohydrates and it's easy to reduce this high amount of carbohydrates by parboiling it, although the long grain rice has already been parboiled from the manufacturers.
By parboiling your long grain rice before using it to cook jollof rice or any form of cooking even if using it for Boil White Rice and Stew to prevent it from  burning before it is done, some people thought that by parboiling there long grain rice, they will lose all the
nutrients in the rice, which is NO.
There are two ways I parboil my rice and it depends on the rice recipe am going for. The way I parboil my rice for Jollof Rice is different from the way I parboil it for Boil White Rice and Stew.
To cut the long story short... Let go and see what to do for today...
To parboil your rice for the purpose of preparing it for Boil White Rice and Stew, you have to boil it for a short period of time.


If cooking Boil White Rice and Stew, follow these simple steps.

This is the simplest method to follow when parboil rice.

1. Wash the rice with salt in cold water (optional) and pour into a sieve to drain off all the water.


2. Set fire to the gas cooker or stove or put on your electric cooker and place your pot.


3. Add water to it, adding water depends on the quality of the rice, or you can make it about x2 of the rice level.


4. Note: when the water as boiling to about 40°c then you can add your rice and leave till it Boil to 100°c thats equivalent to 25 to 30 minutes.

5. Pour into a sieve to drain out the water.

6. Place the sieve with the rice in a bowl of cold water of 0.0°c.

7. Then Rince the rice and pour into another bowl of cold water of 0.0°c if
necessary.

8. Keep it in the sieve to drain off all the water.

9. Now that the water has drained off, your rice is now ready to be fully cooked again.

If parboiling your rice for the sake of Cooking Jollof Rice, Fired Rice, Coconut Rice etc... Follow this simple method.

1. Wash the rice without salt in cold water (optional) and pour into a sieve to drain off all the water.

Notes; Try to take care of every steps given.

2. Set fire to the gas cooker or stove or put on your electric cooker and place your pot.


3. Add water to it, adding water depends on the quality of the rice, so your water should be the same level with the rice, when the first water dries, you add another water to the level again. You may live it to dry or till almost dries, this is to save your jollof or any other form you are using it for from burning.

4. Pour into a sieve to drain out the water.

5. Place the sieve with the rice in a bowl of cold water of 0.0°c.

6. Then Rince the rice and pour into another bowl of cold water of 0.0°C if necessary.

7. Keep it in the sieve to drain off all the water.

8. Now that the water has drained off, your rice is now ready to be fully cooked again.

 Image result for Vegetables Jollof Rice.  This Vegetable Jollof Rice is mostly similar to the normal Jollof Rice. But it has more better looking and has some slightly different taste and aroma just because of the vegetables added. You can use any kind of vegetables, but note; you will add vegetables  to your cooking according to the type and taste of the vegetables you love to use. 
INGREDIENTS :
- 3 Milk Cups of Long Grain Rice.- 4 Cooking Spoonful of Tomato Stew.- 5 Medium Carrots. - 2 Green balls of Tatashe  Pepper. - Chicken. - Chilli Pepper.
- Salt. - 1½ Medium Onions. - 2 Stock Cubes. - 1 Tablespoon Thyme. 
Before you proceed the cooking of your  Vegetables Jollof Rice.  1. Prepare the tomato stew. How To Make The "Tomato Stew".1a. Get your cooker set up and place your cooking pot on it, then pour the fresh tomato which you've already blend, and heat it for like 10 to 15 minutes or till when the water almost get dried.1b. If you are using the watery tomato paste, pour your oil into the pot first and live it for 5 minutes and pour the  watery tomato paste, and reduce the heat to low. Cook till the water in the tomato
Paste dried as much as possible.
2. Then add the following to your fresh tomatoes blend ;* Vegetable Oil,
* Chopped fresh Onions, And Stir very well.
NOTE ; you don't need step "2" if you are using "1b" step "2" is for the users of "1a"
3. Fry and stir at short intervals, and reduce your cooker to a very low heat
till the oil has completely flat on top from the tomato ground. if you have fry it very well, and have an irregular line left from smearing or motion of oil. Taste the  tomato stew to make sure that the raw tomato taste is are no more. As time goes on and practice with challenges, you will be soon be an expert. 
4. Now you are OK with the taste, your tomato stew is ready to use. If you are using it immediately, add it to your cooking. But if not used keep it cool at 20°c.

2. Prepare your chicken to do that see details below.
How To Fry or Barbecue your chicken.
1. Chop up the whole chicken to desired pieces. If you like you might have asked the grocers or meatsellers should do this for you and save you the time. 
2. Pot the chicken pieces, then chop the onions and add it with thyme and stock cubes and add to the chicken. 
3. Note : don't add any amount of water to it, the chicken will drill out water itself. just cover the contents of the pot and start cooking.
4. Since it a hen, it would take some time cause of the tough, normally 15 to 20 minutes is OK on medium heat with a normal cooking pot to get it to done. Taking more than 15 to 20 minutes Depend on the heating capacity of your cooker. Also if you use a pressure cooker, it will take even much less time so keep an eye on it so that it doesn't get too soft. so should not think that because have say it should take 15 to 20 minutes you keep it up and be doing other things. It may get burn.
5. When the chicken is done, add some salt, cover the pot and leave to simmer for about 2 minutes. Adding salt at the beginning will make your chicken cook in more time because salt toughens the chicken and some other foodstuff
6. Pour the chicken to a sieve to drain.
7. Now get your chickens set on the oven rack, place the rack as close to the barbecue (the top heater in your oven) aspossible.
8. Switch on the oven to " barbecue " or "Broil" and set the temperature to 150°C or 350°F.
9. After 10 to 15 minutes the upper side might have turned brown, now you make the second turning of the pieces of chicken on the other side. 
10. Now that the both sides of the chicken is well- barbecued and turn brown.
11. The second side can't take up to 10 to 15 minutes, just keep it for just 5 minutes.

3. Parboil your rice using details below.
How To Parboil Rice, Using This Simple Parboiling Method As Following :

2. Add water to it, adding water depends on the quality of the rice, or you can make it about twice the level of the rice.
3. Set fire to the gas cooker or the stove and leave to cook.
4. Note: when the water as boil to about 40°c then you can add your rice and to the boiling water and leave to Boil to 100°c plus 10 more minutes.
5. Pour it into a sieve to sieve out the water.
6. Place the sieve with the rice in a bowl of cold water of 0.0°c.
7. Then Rince the rice and pour into another bowl of cold water of 0.0°c necessary.
8. Keep it in the sieve to drain off all the water.

Directions:
1. Pour the chicken or meat stock in a pot you which to use and place on the cooker or stove to boil for like 3 minutes and pour the tomato stew into the pot and leave to done for like 4 minutes all together.
2. Pour the drained parboiled rice, salt and pepper and add water to it if necessary.
Note : The water level most be the same to the rice. This is to ensure that all the
water dries up by the time the rice is done.

3. Cover the pot and leave to cook on low medium heat. This way the rice does not burn before the water dries up. If you parboiled the rice as described above, the rice should be done
by the time the water dry off.
4. When the water is almost dry, add the chopped carrots, vegetables leaf,  green pepper cover the pot and continue cooking.
5. When the water is completely dry, turn it into another pot or blow, add stir with a wooden spoon.
Now enjoy the Vegetables Jollof Rice.

How To Cook Quick, Easy, Delicious Fried Rice.

Fried Rice is most commonly used in many occasion,  such as Weddings, Birthday parties, Special events, and any other occasion.


It's easy to prepare, such that I cook it mostly ten (10)X in a month. which if you taste it, you will like to have it every night.


Eating Fried Rice with other recipes like Moi Moi, Salad, fried chicken or Barbecus, Or Coleslaw.  You will feel like you are on the top of the world or in the paradise island. To cook a Delicious Fried Rice here's are all you need.


INGREDIENTS :



AROMATICS :



2 tablespoons of minced ginger.
3 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
Yellow curry powder.



VEGETABLES :



1 cup diced carrots.
1 cup fresh or frozen corn kernels,
defrosted.
⅔ cup fresh or frozen peas, defrosted.
¼ cup chopped scallions.



RICE.



2 tablespoons grapeseed, canola, or
peanut or vegetable oil.
4 cups rice.
⅓ teaspoon salt.
⅛ teaspoon ground white pepper.
2 tablespoons soy sauce.
1 large egg, beaten.
⅓ cup toasted pine nuts, almonds,
peanuts, or cashews.
2 tablespoons minced cilantro (optional)



Note:



I do not use woks because it is alot of work taking care of them. If the carbon steel is not rusting, the bamboo handles are coming apart so I prefer my frying pans for fried rice. :)

Before you start cooking the Fried Rice, chop the vegetables and wash them all, the vegetables to be used in cooking the fried rice.



Graze and chop the carrots into tiny cubes.



Chop the green beans into smaller pieces of 0.5cm long.



Pour hot water of about 89°c on each vegetables separately in a bowl to make them to Soak in the hot water for about 5 minutes and drain in a sieve.



Chop 1 bulb of onion.



Place them aside.



Preparation of the liver and chicken.



1. Cook the liver for about 10 minutes or till done and chop into tiny pieces. To save energy and time, you can cook the liver with the chicken.



2. You may like to Chop the whole chicken into pieces and cook with the Knorr cubes, thyme and 2 bulbs of onions (chopped) or chop half of the chicken and left half for the dishing. When done, Barbecue in the oven with vegetable oil or olive oil. This gives it a golden or brown color. To make it more presentable most especially when you are dishing for a guests.

Cooking Directions:



1. Get ready your Parboil rice or prepare to parboil a new rice using the Parboiling method CLICK HERE TO GET MORE INFO.



NOTE : make sure you parboil the rice well cause an over parboiled rice makes the grains of the rice will not stick together when the rice is done to make a good presentable fried rice. Rinse the parboiled rice with cold water and drain a sieve.



2. Sieved out all the onions, thyme etc.. In the chicken stock to remove all traces of onions, thyme etc.... Now get your cooker set and place your cooking pot on it then pour the stock into the pot and set to boil. Keep it for about 10 to 15 minutes, when it is boils, add the parboiled rice. add 1 tablespoon of plain yellow curry powder, then add salt, ⅛ teaspoon ground white pepper and other seasonings taste.



3. To make sure you have a good looking fried rice you most take note of the water level so that the grains of the rice will not stick together, the water level should be more lesser than the level of the rice. At most it should be at the same level as the rice. Depend on the way you have parboiled your rice. Let the rice cook for about 10 to 15 minutes to ensure that all the water dries up by the time the rice is done and make sure that the rice is not over cooked. Stir the contents, cover the pot and leave to cook on medium heat. This way the rice does not burn before the water dries up.




4. After the water has dried up, you shouldn't let it to get burned cause a good fried rice should be cooked perfectly. Perfect in the sense that the grains are separated from one another.



5. Turn your fried rice into a glass bowl or morgi bowl or another pot to make it cool. Again, this is much more importance in the sense that it makes the grains from sticking to each other. If left in the main pot you have used to cook it, the rice will continue to cook and eventually stick together. Now back to the vegetables you have kept aside above.



NOTE : I will recommend for you to divide your vegetables into five (5) equal parts. The rice will be fried in batches so this number depends on the quantity of rice you can comfortably fry in the frying pan. Now divide the cooked rice into 3 equal parts with the diced cow liver into the same number of equal parts.


6. Now place the frying pan on your cooker and pour a small quantity of vegetable oil or olive oil into a frying pan. This quantity of oil shouldn't be much so that each part of the cooked rice and each part each of the vegetables will be able to absorbed the oil, add ⅓ part of diced onions and stir for bit seconds, now add 1 part of diced cow liver, and one part of each vegetables diced, then 1 part of cooked rice.


7. You may add ⅛ of teaspoon of salt if needed. To top up the color of your fried rice, you can add more curry powder to it. Then stir them all together to make all the ingredients have poured mixed well. Now pour it in another dry plate or glass bowl. Now to the remaining rice and ingredients how do you do about it.



Uhmmmm....... All you need is to Repeat the steps for the remaining batches of rice and ingredients.

Now your FRIED RICE is ready to SERVE with any kind of chickens recipes or Salad or Coleslaw.

Coconut Rice is one of the most popular food use to Serve visitor most, and there are two types of coconut rice, they are the colorful and the whiter one. It feels so good to see the good looking on your dining table, presenting to your FAMILIES, GUESTS or FRIENDS. By  Serving them first they would think is the normal Jollof Rice, but when they taste it, then you see the feeling in there face and they feel like they are in the Paradise Valley at that MOMENT.
Before I proceed, this content will have three main parts the HEADER, BODY, and FOOTER. the header part will talk about the INGREDIENTS, the BODY part will talk about the Preparation of the TOMATO STEW, CHICKEN, VEGETABLES, COCONUT MILK, and PARBOILING of the RICE. ETC........ And the FOOTER side is talking about the COOKING STEPS.
Easy steps to Cook Coconut Rice, color or white Coconut Rice. The colorful one remain it looked like the same as the normal Jollof Rice you popularly known,
but the taste, aroma and ingredients are much more different.
Want to surprise your family, friends, and guests, tell them you prepare what you are very good at as meal for them and invite them to the dining table, then Serve them, they will be looking at you while Serving them even the way you don't like but after Serving it and they take the first spoon, is like WAHOOOPPPOO..... then the pleasure is yours.
But now will love to first write on the colorful Coconut Rice, that looks similarly to the popularly known jollof rice. As times goes on I will be posting for the
other version of the coconut rice known as the White Coconut Rice.

 Now to the HARDER part ::::


INGREDIENTS;

* Get at least 4 Cigar Cups of long grain parboiled rice {750-g}.
* Tomato Stew.
* Coconut Milk.
* Barbecued Chicken or drumsticks.
* 4Teaspoonful of ground Red pepper.
* Salt.
* 1½ medium onions.
* 1¼ stock cubes.
* ½ tablespoon thyme.


Now to the body of the content.

Before proceeding you the cooking of your Coconut Rice you need to get the following prepared and ready.....

* Tomato Stew.
* Fry or Barbecue your chicken.
* Extractions of the coconut milk.
* Parboiled rice.

* How To Extract The Coconut Milk.

It's absolutely a simple tweak if you follow the simple steps blow.

1. Burst the coconut and put it in a bowl to collect the coconut water. Although we  don't really need the coconut water and you may use it to blend it if you like or drink it. It even good for health.

2. Use knife or any other tools to remove the coconut meat.

3. Chop or Grate the coconut meat into smaller pieces.

4. Put the chopped coconut in a blender and add warm water or the coconut water to it.

5. Blend on high for about 5 minutes until the mixture is thick and creamy.

6. Pour your blend coconut into a sieve and use spoon to exact more pressure on it to filter out all the milk.

7. Now your coconut milk is ready to used or if not ready to use, store in
fridge for future use.

Now Set the coconut milk aside.

And now to the last but not the list, the FOOTER side is talking about the COOKING STEPS.

1. Now you need a big and accommodate pot to cook the rice. And set on your cooker or stove.

2. Pour the chicken stock, coconut milk and the tomato stew into the pot you have set on the cooker or stove to boil. After boiled for about 3 minutes, add your parboiled rice, salt, thyme,
and your ground Red pepper. And add water to the level of the rice. This is to ensure that all the water dries up by the time the rice is fully cooked.

3. Now cover up the pot and leave to cook. If you parboiled the rice as described above it shouldn't take more than 10 to 15 minutes to done, and with this, the rice won't get burn before the water dries up. After 10 to 15 minutes the rice should be done by the time the water is dry. Taste it to confirm. Now you have a Good, Deliciously coconut rice. And ready to Serve. Enjoy with Fried Plantain, Salad or Coleslaw.

Jollof Rice is the most prepared food at parties in most parts of the African and the world.
To cut it shout, each continent, countries has there ways of cooking Jollof Rice at there party.
But because I was born and brought up in Nigeria, I will be writing for Nigeria. On HOW TO COOK JOLLOF RICE IN THE PARTY.
But before I prised, in Nigeria there are different types of Jollof Rice has it's listed below.
The following are the type of Jollof Rice in Nigeria :  Are........

FRIED RICE.

COCONUT RICE.

MIXED VEGETABLE JOLLOF RICE.

RICE AND BEANS.

AND local one called CONCOTION RICE.

Now to the main content of the post on HOW TO COOK JOLLOF RICE IN THE NIGERIAN PARTY. Today many people in Nigeria don't still know how to cook Jollof Rice to the best TASTE, is like whoops am lieing, but not. Here's is the Steps to cook the best of the best, good looking, good TASTES Jollof Rice.

Please note :

You have to follow this post as it's listed below :

Step 1

THE INGREDIENTS TO USE.

* 4 cigar cups.
* 750g long grain rice.
* Tomato Stew of 500 mls.
* Chicken or Meat.
* Red Pepper.
*Teaspoon white Pepper
* Salt.
* 3 Medium Onions, Sliced.
* 3 Knorr Cubes.
* 2 teaspoons thyme.
* Teaspoonfuls of olive oil.
* Chicken bouillon cubes (recommended: Maggi).

Step 2

In this section, here you put all the ingredients together to make your taste Jollof Rice.

* Prepare the tomato stew. It is advisable to prepare tomato stew before hand and keep in the freezer. By doing this, then you have prepared for cooking Jollof Rice or any other related dish, it is just a matter of adding it to your cooking.
* If you will using meat or whole chicken then wash and cut it into pieces. Cook with the thyme, Knorr cubes, Maggi, and 2 bulbs of onions (chopped). The cooking
time depends on the types and sizes of the meat or chicken. When your meat or chicken is done, barbecue it in an oven. You may also fry or roost it. This is to
give it a golden look which is more presentable especially if you have VIP, guests for dinner.

* Parboil the rice using this parboiling method as following :

1. Wash the rice in cold water (optional) and place in a pot.
2. Add water to it, adding water depends on the quality of the rice, or you can make it about twice the level of the rice.
3. Set fire to the gas cooker or the stove and leave to cook.
4. Note: when the water as boil to about 40°c then you can add your rice and to the boiling water and leave to Boil to 100°c plus 10 more minutes.

Note : The water level most be the sameto the rice. This is to ensure that all the
water dries up by the time the rice is cooked.
* Cover the pot and leave to cook on low to medium heat. This way the rice does not burn before the water dries up.
If you parboiled the rice as described above, the rice should be done
by the time the water dry off. Taste it to confirm. If it done. But if it not, you will need to add more water and reduce the heat to prevent burning. Keep cooking till it fully done.

There's always saying about White Coconut Rice and Jollof Coconut Rice. That the White Coconut Rice is much more delicious then the Jollof Coconut Rice. Uhmmmmm... Stop thinking that  because they are both delicious. Prepare the two of them and decide which is best for you and make it your favorite. In many occasions, White Coconut Rice is much used then the Jollof Coconut Rice. Cause if you serve most people the Jollof Coconut Rice in any occasion, they won't believe that you are serving them with Coconut rice. That why most people say the White Coconut Rice is more better than the Jollof Coconut Rice which I will always dispute.

Now to the header of the content.

INGREDIENTS ;;;

* Long grain parboiled rice.
* Coconut Milk.
* Chickens stock/broth.
* 10 Small Shrimps.
* Tatashe Pepper. [optional]
* 2 White Onions.
* Two teacup of Diced Sausage.
* Seasoning Cube.
* Fresh Peppers [Habanero peppers].

Things you have to Notes about the INGREDIENTS.

* Why the long grain parboiled rice is always best for your Jollof Rice, Jollof Coconut Rice, White Coconut Rice or White Rice and Stew, is because it not stick together. It's the best rice for all types of RECIPES.

* Using coconut milk you extracted by yourself is much more better than using the manufacture ones. If you don't know how to Extract Coconut milk Read it now "How to Extract Coconut Milk".

* Seasoning cube is to me is optional because is already added to your cooking when preparing the chicken stock/broth.

* The green ingredients (peas, peppers and beans) are for colour. So using any green ingredients add nothing to your meal but it makes it colorful.

* If you wanna have a completely White Coconut Rice without no point of colour, then you don't have to add any ingredient
that transform colour. Which means you have to boycott the tatashe peppers and sausage.

Before you proceed the cooking of the White Coconut Rice, get this set.

* Get ready your chicken stock.

* If you have already extracted Coconut milk in your freezer, bring it out but if you don't get your Coconut set for the extraction of the milk.
It's absolutely a simple tweak if you follow the simple steps blow.
1. Burst the coconut and put it in a bowl to collect the coconut water. Although we  don't really need the coconut water and you may use it to blend it if you like or drink it. It even good for health.
2. Use knife or any other tools to remove the coconut meat.
3. Chop or Grate the coconut meat into smaller pieces.
4. Put the chopped coconut in a blender and add warm water or the coconut water to it.
5. Blend on high for about 5 minutes until the mixture is thick and creamy.
6. Pour your blend coconut into a sieve and use spoon to exact more pressure on it to filter out all the milk.

* Parboil the long grain rice.

How To Parboil The Long Grain Rice, Using This Simple Parboiling Method As Following :

1. Wash the rice in cold water (optional) and place in a pot.
2. Add water to it, adding water depends on the quality of the rice, or you can make it about twice the level of the rice.
3. Set fire to the gas cooker or the stove and leave to cook.
4. Note: when the water as boil to about 40°c then you can add your rice and to the boiling water and leave to Boil to 100°c plus 10 more minutes.
5. Pour it into a sieve to sieve out the water.
6. Place the sieve with the rice in a bowl of cold water of 0.0°c.
7. Then Rince the rice and pour into another bowl of cold water of 0.0°c
necessary.
8. Keep it in the sieve to drain off all the water.
9. Now that the water have drain off, your rice is now ready to be fully cooked again.

Note : before you can agree that your rice is fully OK with the parboiling, you should be able to cut the grain of rice with your finger nails.

* Chop up all your sausages into smaller pieces.
* Chop your Fresh Peppers [Habanero peppers]and the Green Pepper.
* Chop your Green Beans into
Uniform sizes of about ½ inch long.
* Chop your onions to a circular form.
* Parboil your shrimps and peel them.

DIRECTIONS ::

1. Get your cooker or stove set, then clan your pot and place it on the cooker or stove then pour the chicken stock and coconut milk into the pot. Have it at the back of your mind that the rice will rise by one quarter of its quantity from the state of parboiled, to the state it done.
2. Now get your green pepper and seasoning cube add them to it and cover the pot, live it to start cooking till it boils 80°c.
3. Add your parboiled rice to it, then add salt and Stir together. Note; your Coconut milk level should be the same with the rice level. If is not, top it up with coconut milk if you still have some, but if you don't add water. But note the more water you add it reduces the coconut milk taste. So it better you have enough Coconut milk. If the coconut milk level is much more than the rice level, your coconut rice will end up with soggy.
But if you have used long grain parboiled rice and you have done the parboiling probably, then you will have your Coconut Rice done by the time the coconut milk dries up.
4. Cover your pot and allow to cook, once it boils, add the sausage. The sausage needs to be cooked but if you are using other types of sausage that does not need much cooking, such as hotdogs and others, add it in the next step.
6. When the coconut milk is getting dries below the level of the rice, add the shrimps. If you have not added your sausages in step 5 it means you are using other sausage that doesn't need much cooking, add it and continue cooking.
7. Now if the water is almost dry, add the following ingredients:
Onions,
Green Beans, 
Green Peas,
The Tatashe,
Habanero Peppers.
Cover and continue cooking till all the coconut milk dries up. If your rice is probably parboiled, it should be doen by then.
9. Stir with a wooden spoon till all the ingredients are well mixed.
That's all. Now your White Coconut Rice is ready to serve. If you can prepare your White Coconut Rice with all these ingredients listed above, even add more that is not listed. You will enjoy it.
